Merriam Webster defines atlas as, “a bound collection of maps often including illustrations, informative tables, or textual matter.” Tessa takes this idea and explores a series of experiences through technical illustration. The series is comprised of four pieces, each of which uses a certain type of technical drawing: mechanical, botanical, anatomical, and architectural. These illustrations are conceptually abstracted, using schematic visuals to tell the stories of her experiences.

Atlas includes Anatomy of an Exhibition, which diagrams the unpleasant experience of an art exhibition; Architecture of a Routine, which shows how a daily practice can be one’s foundation; Mechanics of a Derive, which illustrates the observations taken on a stroll through Paris’ Belleville neighborhood; and Botany of an Ambition, which describes the growth and influences which brought Tessa to attend university in Paris.
